In February 2001, a methodological group was organized within the Kazakhstan Association of Family Physicians. From its creation, its purpose has been the single-minded retrieval of medical information from the Internet, with the subsequent selection and critical assessment of the most significant in terms of evidence-based medicine. Within this group are two specialists, previously trained in evidence-based medicine and statistical methodology:

According to the doctors of the Primary Medical and Health Aids (PMSP), the Scientific Research Institute (NII), and various medical education institutions and hospitals, a methodological group can provide necessary information for different divisions of clinical and theoretical disciplines by conducting free information retrieval of pertinent topics and crucial data.

To collect the necessary data, all available means are used, including universal search engines, specialized web sites, and electronic versions of the most important medical publications. This makes it possible to effectively and qualitatively carry out research on any relevant question. As a result of this work, an extensive database has been created, which includes information on a number of the pathologies of the therapeutic profile (cardiology, allergology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, diseases of the liver and bilious system, nephrology), midwifery and obstetrics-gynecology, neurology, endocrinology, Ear/Nose/Throat diseases, and pediatrics.
